So... On the fifth week of school, my teacher gave to me... a three week assignment still life. Oh dear God. There is hope, however. I'm not bad at still lifes... and it's supposed to reflect us, the artist. No image of us is to be present, but we are to take 8 items and arrange them in a pleasing manner, take a photo, and then do our still life based on the photo. Why reduce the still life to a photo? Well, because, most of my class are still life beginners, and it's easier to draw 2D from a 2D image. Your brain makes the connections a lot more easily. The 8 items are to be items of different materials (wood, metal, glass etc), that really get to the heart of who the artist is. Should be fun! Well... I look forward to it... Sorta.
